Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity of questions to measure students' mathematical communication skills. This research was motivated by the fact that the test questions usually given by teachers did not contain procedural calculations, and were still lacking in variety. With mathematical communication skills, students are able to express ideas, describe and discuss mathematical concepts coherently and clearly. This research is descriptive research, namely describing the results of the analysis of mathematical communication ability test items regarding validity, reliability, level of difficulty and differentiation. As for the research results, it was found that all the questions used were valid. Meanwhile, the reliability and level of difficulty are in the medium category, and the discriminating power of questions number 1 to 3 has good discriminating power, while questions number 3 to 4 have sufficient discriminating power. so that these questions can be used to test students' mathematical communication skills
